The label says this is a “strong beer brewed with spices” (6.2%) which I guess is where the Winter comes in. It does have a mulling spices thing going on both in terms of aroma and flavour but underlying that is the citrusy foundation of an IPA.

Gavin tasted it and called it “Christmasey” which I think is fitting. It’s decent but a bit on the novel side. Esther and I split one in a “snifter” style glass and that’s about the right amount – enjoyable but we were both ready to move on when it was done. It would be nice in a flight and nice this time of year. A pint was okay but a sixer would be tough sledding.
